Queen: 12-14 mm, color varies greatly from reddish brown and tan to dark brown.

Workers: 5-7 mm, color varies from bright red to dark brown.

Soldiers: 7-9 mm, color ranges from bright red to dark brown.

Colony type:

Polygyny - the presence of several oviparous queens in a colony.
Ants form colonies of up to several thousand individuals.

Nest in nature:

Nests are formed in the soil, in the hollows of trees. They prefer to occupy ready-made buildings.

Complexity of content:

A minimum of experience in keeping ants is required. This species is unpretentious in nutrition and conditions. Ants reproduce extremely quickly, so a large living space and fairly good protection fromescape. Nimble enough, when danger appears, they tap their belly on the surface, announcing the alarm. The soldiers mainly act as a reservoir for liquid food.

At the initial stages of development, ants are rather timid and peaceful, however, with the growth of the colony, the species becomes more aggressive. The main activity is in the dark.
